Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal has become one of the most popular methods of reducing unwanted body hair, with many men and women alike choosing laser procedures over waxing and other hair removal methods. The first step in the process is to get a free consultation at Northwestern Institute of Cosmetic Surgery to identify which skin type you have and find out whether laser hair removal is something which is well suited to your needs and have any questions you may have answered by our medical esthetician. If you’re a good candidate for the laser hair removal, then you can usually go ahead and schedule the procedure; or in some cases, even have it performed right away. Some facilities will offer a demonstration of the procedure so you can find out what the procedure will feel like and how your skin will deal with the laser hair removal treatment.
The number of treatments in most areas requires 3-6 treatments. However, the number of Laser hair removal treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors—hair thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle. Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time and actually go through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. Laser hair removal treatments work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.
After treatment, the treated area may be red or swollen. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.
A professional medical-grade chemical peel that dramatically promotes cell renewal, resulting in smoother, tighter skin. It reduces surface bacteria, resulting in fewer acne breakouts, brightens the skin and lightens hyperpigmentation. Hydration of the skin can also be achieved while wrinkles are reduced. It is at the discretion of the Aesthetician to recommend the appropriate peel, as all skin types vary.
PCA Ultra Peel I and II. Are appropriate for all skin types, conditions and sensitivities. Ideal for sensitive skin as they produce a minimal stinging sensation. Ultra peel treatments will effectively treat acne pigment disorders, aging skin and sun damaged skin.
PCA Sensi Peel. This gentle solution is formulated primarily for ethnic skin and other extremely sensitive skin types. This multi-faceted treatment also provides anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action making it an excellent choice for helping calm rosacea as redness and inflammation can subside substantially after treatment.
